OMG I just got this picture of Zadie! She is Daisy and Butkus's girl. I'm so thrilled to see her!

This is what they said about her.

She is doing great. This is a picture of her today with her partner in crime, Zephyr. I haven't weighed either of them, but they are huge. Of coarse he out weighs her, but not as much as I would have thought when we got them both. What she gives to him in size, she makes up for in spirit. She rules the roost around here. We love her to death. Both the boys love playing with them.

PLEASE Keep your PUPPIES SAFE!

How to Prevent Parvovirus

Parvovirus can be a threat for puppies at any age. It can be especially dangerous for pets that are out and about with other dogs, as it is transferred by contact with canine stools. Luckily, it almost never occurs after your dog is 14-months-old.

Even with preventative actions such as vaccinating, Parvovirus can attack. Parvo is a viral canine disease, and the virus grows in rapidly dividing cells such as the intestinal lining. It attacks and kills these cells and can lead to death. Parvo also causes a suppression of white blood cells and can infect the heart muscle. The key is to know what signs to look for and to get treatment immediately if Parvo is suspected.
Symptoms to Look For

Diarrhea, bloody
Lethargy
Vomiting
Depression
Pain when defecating
Loss of appetite
Fever

Treatment

1. Testing - There are tests for Parvo in the stool but results can be a false positive for those puppies recently vaccinated.

2. Going By Symptoms - If the results of the test are positive and there are symptoms present, your vet will likely treat it as Parvovirus even if your puppy was recently vaccinated.

3. Fluids - Intravenous fluid is the main treatment for Parvo. Serum and colloidal fluids are used, along with traditional fluids. The colloidal fluids appear to be mainly to credit for recovery.

4. Antibiotics - These prevent secondary bacterial infections. Antibiotics such as Amoxicillin are usually used.

5. Immunity - Strengthening your puppy's immune system.

Protecting Dogs from Deadly Parvo

http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2011/09/01/protecting-dogs-from-deadly-parvo.aspx

How Parvo Spreads

The parvovirus is highly contagious and can be transmitted through dog-to-dog contact as well as through contaminated feces, environments and people.

Virtually any surface a dog touches can harbor the virus, including his crate, food and water bowls, his collar and leash, dog toys, etc. Other animals, people and even clothing can be contaminated.

Parvo is a very resilient virus that lives in the environment for long stretches. It survives temperature and humidity extremes. Just a minute amount of poop contaminated with parvo can infect an area and other dogs that pass through the area.

♥ ♥ Update on Tut ♥ ♥

Oh gosh, he makes laugh a million times a day!  The funniest thing right now is if I correct him, he runs to Mike....and if Mike corrects him, he comes to me.

I can't even find the words to tell you how AMAZING, SWEET, & SMART he is. I told him one time "this is your toy basket," and he already understands it.  We even experimented with him and said "go put your toy in your basket," and he did it!  He has already learned sit, stay, NO, go outside, lie down...so many things.  He understands SIT so well that we don't even have to say it!  Ha ha!

♥ ♥ Brody ♥ ♥

Brody has gone to his GREAT FUREVER HOME. I can tell he is going to be very HAPPY! I'm very excited about his new home. (But I miss him already) He had already learned how to sit and shake and was learning speak. He's very very smart! I can't wait to see/hear what they teach him. They are going to take him to training classes. She's a stay at home mom so she will have lots of time with him.

Look at that sweet face! ♥

♥ ♥ Update on Zeus ♥ ♥

Just wanted to send you an update. The attached picture shows Zeus the night we brought him home (left side), and present day (right side). He has grown so much! He now stands 17 1/2 inches at the withers and weighs 31.6 pounds. That is roughly 4 1/2 inches taller and 19 lbs heavier than when we first brought him home. He has taken to crate training extremely well. He sleeps through the night without any issues. Potty training is going really well. He will sit by the door and whine when he has to use the bathroom. Such a smart puppy. We love him so much. Thank you again.
